HALLOWEEN

So this post will probably end up rambly...

I've had a lot on my plate lately.  Halloween is quickly approaching and my husband and I have been working on a costume for our daughter.  It all started with the "what do you want to be for Halloween" conversation with Gracie about 3 weeks ago.  She saw a picture in the Target ad for a pink Batgirl costume.  She remembered it and told us and I quote "I want to be Batgirl so I can wear a mask and use my super-powers!"  I think David shed a proud tear over that one!  I think we were expecting something like a princess, or some other froofy, dolled up thing.  In my husband's eyes Gracie had surpassed all of her tomboy tendencies and made him a proud papa!  We are big comic book fans around here. Yep we're geeks, or are we nerds?  I can never remember which is the better of the two to be. (please leave comments! lol!)

So I am curious... How do y'all do the Halloween thing?  We are Christians and believe Jesus came so we don't have to be afraid of  death, hell, and destruction.  My husband and I also think that Trick-or-Treating is harmless and it's a fun way for Gracie to dress up and have fun.  We in no way condone the reason Halloween came about or do we celebrate evil.   So, your thoughts please!

I think that's all for now.  I'll be back again soon with pics of "G."

AND THEN THERE WERE FOUR (YEARS THAT IS)

So yesterday my hubby and I celebrated our 4 year wedding anniversary.  We had already celebrated this past weekend with a trip to Indy to Beef and Boards, but I couldn't just have a boring day  So I decided to make it a little special.  First I made biscuits and gravy for breakfast - a real treat for Gracie and my husband.  They both love it!  I was making the gravy and Gracie asked me what I was making breakfast for                  (breakfast usually is something a little more simple like cereal, yogurt, oatmeal and fruit for example).  I told her that today (yesterday) is a special day for Daddy and me.  She told me that it was her special day TOO!  I asked her why, and this was the reply: "Well Mommy, you are making biscuits and gravy today so it's my special day."  That made me giggle, which made her giggle.  Oh how I love her giggle!  I love how toddlers make you just stop sometimes to see how simple things can be.  It made her day that I made biscuits and gravy.  Maybe I need to do that more...

I made gnocchi with chicken with a really good sauce.  We had a nice salad and bread too.  German chocolate cake for dessert. YUM-O!  I really love to cook! And cooking for my family makes me feel like I am loving on them a little.

FUN WEEKEND

We had a great weekend!  My Hubby and I celebrated our 4th wedding anniversary.  We went to Beef and Boards to see "Singin in the Rain."  It was so nice to just be alone and have some time to catch up.  It was much needed.  We've been pretty stressed lately and it was wonderful not to think about anything but us.

ALL THAT CLIPPIN'...

-Frugal Find of the Day-

  So I purchased:

1 Cover Girl Concealer
5 Cover Girl Blush (I gave one away)
1 Allyou Magazine

  Total before coupons: $28.00
  Actually Spent: $3.97!

This was so exciting!  The cashier was astonished, and I had my own little happy dance on the inside.
I always feel like a magician when I use coupons. Now you see the total, now you don't.Voila! The great Wendini has done it again.
Side note...I LOVE the Allyou mag!  Lots of coupons, recipes that are really yummy, workouts, healthy eating plans, and loads of little tips about everything in your life.  It runs only $2.49!  And as you can tell on the front there are loads of coupons in there.

-Countdown to Beef and Boards-

It is the day after tomorrow and I can't wait.  I have been planning and planning all the little details.  I have a cute little black dress, studied hair-dos and make-up, Gracie is going to the grandparents, I'll book the hotel tomorrow...And the list goes on.  We watched Singin in the rain last weekend to get in the mood.  I think it was David's first time seeing it.

Well this is it for today, more to come later...

CLIPPIN' AWAY

I am feeling a bit random today...

So it's clippin time.  This is probably my least favorite part of my couponing. But it's a necessity.
I had a couple of massages today! I love it!
David and I will be going on our anniversary weekend this weekend. We are going to Beef and Boards to see Singin' in the rain. I am so excited! This is the time of year we just go away and enjoy each other.  We don't worry about anything we just go.  It is so nice. To just re-connect.  More blogging about this weekend later.
More to come later. If you have a subject you would like to know about in my life, just leave a comment below and I'll see what I can do when I get the time.

MY UPS GIFT

Frugal Living
So I got home from work today and saw a couple packages waiting by the door.  It's like Christmas at the Clements house whenever UPS shows up.  I got a great deal on this food saver!  I've been wanting one of these for a long time but I didn't want to pay $70 for one.  So last week there was a post at Hip2Save.com on how to get one for $9.99 shipped! Awesome! All of this for $9.99 shipped straight to my door! Thank you, Hip2Save, for, again, being totally awesome!

Family Life
On a totally different subject... I had a pretty hard day at work and had some difficult home issues to deal with, but the Lord always works all things together for good for those that love Him. (Romans 8:28)

Gracie-isms
Gracie found some old walkie-talkies today. She asked what they were and we told her. Later in the evening she walked up to David and I and asked where the "hockey-talkies" were. I am still chuckling over that! That girl is so funny! I am a proud mama!

"WEN"

So the whole reason my blog title is weird like that? Because of my husband's nickname for me. He calls me "Wen". I really do know how to spell, but I just think it's cute.

REASONING

So, reasoning...
I am a wife, mommy, homemaker, receptionist, grocery service, meal planner, coupon clippin'-trying to organize my life-kind of woman. Whew! That's a whole heck of a lot of things on my agenda. But I am trying to fit all of it in and still sleep. Sometimes I get frustrated when things aren't going well and I feel like I need a creative outlet.  I want my learning experiences to be a help to someone (even if it's just to myself). The need to blog formed out of that. I have had blogs before and then forgot about them or just didn't make the time for them. So I am giving all of you fair warning... This blog may not be updated very often, but I will try to make time. I am going to add some of my favorite things to the mix and post some really cool pics. In short, it will be a collage of my crazy, busy life. So check back often for new posts and I look forward to sharing a little bit of me with all of you Wen I Have the Time.
